The Art of Foley

Before we launched our Halloween Episode (012 - Happy Halloween, Waxless Charlie!) we posted a little teaser video to Facebook showing the "making" of a Podikins episode. 

As you'll see, the video shows Dean Martin performing a variety of live sound effects during an Orson Welles radio story.  What Dean is actually doing is called "Foley" or "Foley Art" and it is, in a nutshell, re-creating everyday sound effects for use in radio, television, and movies.  

Foley art is actually named after Jack Foley (he's not just a fictional character in our episode!) and you can learn more about him here
